For those who have sent their drafts for admission by mail, wont there be any confirmation of the receipt of the same by the authorities at DMS?

u can give a call to the office and talk to Mr. Bose regarding the receipt of the DD.

almost the whole batch is staying the hostel dude.. except for 2-3 guys who are coming from home since their place is very close.. (and its not cos they weren't offered hostel accomodation..

There's nothing to worry about. If you've got the letter, ou through! and if you DD has reached the office before the due date, your part of DMS already. All those who've paid the fees, just give Mr. Bose at the office a call and confirm the receipt of the same. Once thats done just relax and enjoy ur 60 odd days of vacation/office.. its gonna be a long time b4 u get another such long vacation!!

so do wat ur heart asks u to do.. and GET a Life.. !! there r jus too many places to visit in India and abroad, get into some hobbies or interests of yours and pursue them with all ur energy...

So jus enjoy ur life now.. and ya.. join the yahoo groups... groups.yahoo.com/iitdmba09/
and the orkut community too...

get to kno ppl and increase ur network of friends.. afterall MBA is majorly about networking too..

Most of us are on summer internships and are spread out all over india.. so we mite not be having access to emails and net all the time like in college.. but we'r definitely trying to help u guys out as much as possible..

Has anyone tried to call DMS in the afternoon...??

I tried twice in the morning.
1st time they said, 'ur drafts better reach here by April 26th'
2nd time, when i asked if there has been any decision taken on fee deadline extension, they said'not yet'.. hope?? no, their tone dint sound very helpful.. :neutral:

on the AICTE refund guidelines, they asked me wht the f*** was i talkin bout, they hvnt recieved any such notification :sad:

if anyone calls them up, do post ur conversattion here...

and for the umpteenth time, where r the seniorz from DMS- this seems a magical vanishing act from them when it mattered most.. :neutral:

Please refrain from misquoting statements here.. i am sure no one from the admissions committee wud have used such foul language....

Moreover puys, you should understand that the authorities here are trying to sort out issues, they'll definitely keep the students' predicament in mind before coming to a decision on it..

So till a new decision is taken regarding the refund etc..status quo prevails..

Was just passing through this thread and noticed this. Infact in SJMSOM also we live with the PG's and the UG's. The hostel is not just meant for us. We are spread over Hostel 13 and Hostel 12 the two newest and best hostels in the campus.

Please refrain from making statements without complete info.

Hostel is a very important issue , iitd has clearly said that hostel facility will be provided to outstation candidates first by preference , what about delhi guys like me , do we finally end up commuting all across delhi everyday ??? seniors plz throw some light on this.

As its clearly mentioned preference will be given for outstation students for hostel accomodation first.. and subsequently most if not all the delhiites will also be given hostel facilities.. in our batch for example.. everyone whether delhi/outstation has been given hostel accomodation.. so dun worry.. :)

Hi!

Is a laptop compulsory in DMS, IITD? If so, is there is a minimum config specified? Can you please post a sample config that the seniors have currently? Is there anything in particular that it should/must have? Is Intel Processor necessary or will AMD do?

Does DMS have a separate hostel or is it common for all IITD students? Does the hostel have Gigabit Ethernet or Wi-Fi only?

I am buying my laptop in the next few days, so I need to know this, in case I join DMS, IITD.

Lappies are not compulsory in DMS, IITD.. you can make do with a desktop too... but it wud definitely be easier for a guy having a lappie to work arnd here.. and will help him be a lil more mobile too.. and so no configuration requirements.. but if ur planning to get lappies better get ones with wifi, bluetooth and also one of the latest config stuff.. AMD or intel is not gonna be much of a matter...

in DMS, IITD unlike that in SJMSOM and VGSOM we students stay along with the other PGs and the btechs and so are spread across most of the hostels.. Yes the hostels have LAN connection.. tho wifi is yet to be implemented in the hostels..

Long time i posted here.. hows it going now that the results are out and the date has been extended for the last date for fees. Looks like a lot of you guys haven't got your WL numbers.. I'm sure it'll be out on the site soon if not already put up..

You guys can definitely call up the office or any of the guys in the admissions committee and get your WL numbers..
