seetharam7 @Dazed-Confused Joining XL HR And thanks. Though I completely agree with A rejecting me. Went through the thread. Some of people who converted have mind blowing profiles. A school mate of mine converted. He has 95 in Xth and XIIth (CBSE), 9.8 CGPA from IIT B and few months work ex from ernst and young. He was also best outgoing student from IIT B in 2012.

newguyintown Sorry to spoil the party here, but I would just like to share my recent experience..

I was having an informal chat with my company's client(a cute British lady) when she started digging me up about the state of MBA in India(It seems Indians are a majority in even the tom **** and harry colleges of UK and so she was skeptic if there existed any good college in India). I proudly bragged about brand IIMs and the quality of students there.. To further prove my point we came to this site and started reading this thread...

After 15 mins she said on a lighter note "My forefathers would have had such an easy time with you people.. You guys are vulnerable!!" Though I gave her a long patriotic speech thereafter, I went into an introspection mode.. Whats wrong with all of us!! Things(read MBA colleges) which should have been used as an object to achieve some higher goal have been converted into goals themselves.. And to top that aspirants are vehemently ranking colleges on random thoughts + placement reports with paragraphs of unnecessary information + desperate marketing by some overzealous, over the top seniors(no offence intended)!!

Grow up buddies.. You should have the final say in your future and not any IIM-X.. They are all the same.. Its you who has to make the difference..

P.S: Sorry if language in this post sounds "been there done it" types.. But believe me, I have been there and seen it.. Its not a very pleasant picture for random decision makers!!

abhi2luv @newguyintown I agree with you when you say that MBA colleges have been turned into goals themselves wich is a poor state of affair but to term that all colleges are the same is like saying that every footballer is like Lionel Messi. I know that we have to work hard in our lives and we should have a much bigger dream in life than just making it to an IIM but we need to decide which path will lead to a better future and hence it becomes obvious to compare collleges. If our future is at stake, we cannot trust any college blindly.

Dazed-Confused @newguyintown I don't know what you find appalling here. We are trying to question and analyze scarce data that is available on these colleges.
Believe me people who are on these thread are in bad shape. New IIMs are no applicant's dream college. They are not even Plan B or Plan C for most applicants.
Beggars can't be choosers and the fact that task is to choose best amongst Tier II colleges, tells a lot about our plight. This is not a thread that can be used as an exhibit for Elite Indian MBA colleges
If you wanted to really show India in a positive light you should have displayed her the discussion threads of IIM A,B,C ; XLRI or FMS.
I don't know what you thought at the time but the action you took was without foresight.
# No offense to anyone, I agree totally that getting into a B-school has become a dream itself in India
# High competition leads to fierce rat race wherein most of the mango people is crushed and sent packing to threads like these

For everyone: With above mentioned figures for new IIMs which do not even follow IPRS, i would actually question the authenticity. IPRS system followed by IIM Udaipur is a bold step towards creating a system where clear picture is given to aspirants. This speaks volumes about the confidence our director has in the institute, his abilities and his students' abilities.Coming back to placements: There are 5 International offers which I don't think any other new IIM has. Max. earning potential of $45739...This amounts to Rs25,05,582.42. While median is $37314, which is equivalent to Rs 20,44,060.92 . If IIM Udaipur had followed the normal flawed procedure and if had they given a simple report with min max and median salaries, the numbers would surely have gone. Also, for other institutes, min , max and median would include every thing like one time bonus payment, performance linked pay(which is not guaranteed) , insurance cover and other benefits which companies claim to offer and thus institutes include in the placements.You have both types of reports and opinions also. Do make an informed choice.I as a student of IIM Udaipur would also say that, if you r coming here only for placements, then may be you can re-think your decision, 'coz even the institute is looking for people who would contribute towards its growth and will have a strong focus on learning and belief in procedures. Prahass attemps a question paper that has 3 sections with 6 questions each. He has to attempt 8 questions with atleast 2 from each section. in how many ways can he attempt the paper?P.S.-- Shouldn't the answer be 6C2* 6C2*6C2*12C2 ?? Well , it is not . Can anyone explain why? what cases are left ...
