PaGaLGuY had an exclusive and small chat with Prof SSS Kumar, who is otherwise quite media-shy
How do you feel donning the CAT Convenor's hat this year?
Its a great responsibility and fully focused on our goal conducting CAT 2012 successfully, befitting of the lofty standards set by IIMs in the past. At present, we are sparing no efforts to give a trouble free experience to CAT 2012 aspirants in the process of registration and appearing in CAT 2012.
Is there anything that you will take as learning from past CAT convenors?
As CBT is in evolution mode, experiences of the past convenors provide the guiding light for the conduct of CAT 2012.
fraternity across the IIMs.
Have you got into CAT work full-time?
.
assuming the level of difficulty is maintained same on all the days of the testing period, when more well-prepared students give CAT on the same day as yours, then obviously there will be tough competetion fot that slot. Nobody can guarantee that on any particular day there will be less competetion. So no use of thinking about the competetion. Instead go for your suitable date. Rest all can beantiicipated on Jan 9th.

and who taught you that 'comprise of' is not standard English - some sentence correction guide , I suppose
for example:
Three Indians and two Americans "comprise" the team (=they make up the team)
And
The team is "comprised of" 3 Indians and 2 Americans (=the team is made up of...)
Strictly speaking, you should use the active/passive forms in that way i.e. if the subject is the constituent members of the group, use the active 'comprises', if the subject is the group that is made up of such-and-such, then use the passive 'is comprised of'.
Shocked!!!
ATB everyone. \m/
And coming back to the usage of the word 'comprise' I request you to look up the word in any standard English dictionary. Please do it for your own good.
PS- I am aware of the usage 'comprised of' .
