So this is it people, today is the Last Day that you will see PaGaLGuY in its current avatar. We transition to the new PaGaLGuY starting tomorrow afternoon (the article assumes you sleep till noon), the one we've been introducing you to since the last week. For those who are reading this for the first time, you should read this, this and this post.

We have designed the transition to be as smooth as possible, and any issues that creep up would be solved in the few days after the switch on top priority. Despite the switch, the site will remain in beta for a long time to come. Here are some things you should know:

1. You will continue to log in to the new PaGaLGuY with the same username and password as you do now. However if you have special characters in your username, you would be asked to change over to a username without those characters. So for example, if your username is 'Apurv@IIM2012', you will be asked to choose a new username without the '@' character. I am guessing that most people with this issue will go for something on the lines of 'Apurv.IIM2012'.

2. All your posts, comments, private messages and subscribed threads get transported to the new PaGaLGuY seamlessly. Subscribed threads will however be known as Followed threads in the new PaGaLGuY.

3. Those on your friend list in the current PaGaLGuY will automatically be made your Followers in the new PaGaLGuY. And you will be a Follower of all those whose friend lists you are on.

4. Signatures will be back (yay!). We will restart giving out b-school ranks to verified students and alumni as well a few weeks after the launch.

5. Some features will however be dropped. Such as the 'favourite posts', the Groans you made at others and the Groans made at you, the Shoutbox, etc. We may add these features later, depending on how the community evolves on the new PaGaLGuY.

6. For a few days after the transition, we will have an easily accessible 'Bug Report' facility running across the site. Whenever you spot something that doesn't look right or doesn't work right, Report the Bug and help us improve!

So savour the old look for as long as you want, because it's not going to be around much more. Less than a day, actually.
