So it's time we made the new version of PaGaLGuY a little more exciting by addressing the biggest obstacle of getting through a top Indian b-school: cracking MBA entrance tests.

Preparing for a test like the Common Admissions Test (CAT) can be boring. There's a lot of theory to read, based on which you try to crack problems of increasing difficulty and hope that it will all count to a high percentile when you take that mock test. Either way, it is absurd that we prepare alone for a test in which our performance depends on others.

Sometimes, you wish that you could prepare collaboratively alongside a group of people and learn from those who solved the same math or verbal problem faster. In the words of deepu, sometimes we all need a little help, motivation, a nudge in the right direction and when that happens, you experience the true joy of understanding a subject and conquering it.

PaGaLGuY Prepathon is our way of helping you find that joy and it launches tomorrow afternoon!

Let's get to the goodies straight. Here is how PG Prepathon will help you get better at cracking questions.

Prepathon will be a one-month-long online group study exercise that would run at 2 pm for 3 hours daily, with a re-run at 7 pm. The three hours would be divided into two parts of 1 hour and 15 minutes each with a half hour break in between. Your Live Feed will show a 'Start' button on top which you can click to join the Prepathon.

When a Prepathon is in progress, your Live Feeds will show one question from quant, verbal or data interpretation sections at a time with answer options, a timer and some interesting features.

If you can solve the question, just click on the correct option and Submit Answer. But if you can't, you might want to make use of a 'Lifeline', Who Wants to be a Milionaire or Kaun Banega Crorepati style.

The 50/50 Lifeline will eliminate any two incorrect answer options...

The Audience Choice Lifeline will show you what answer options others participating in the Prepathon have chosen, without of course telling you which one is correct...

By now, you should be able to answer the question one way or the other! If not, just Skip it.

If you answer it correctly, Prepathon will tell you...

You can then see the solution for the question as imagined by the question creator (in this case, MBACrackers.com).

And now the best part. Once you've solved the question, you can start discussing it with others who have solved it im the small chatbox right below, until the next question loads...

Depending on the difficulty level, each question shows up for five to eight minutes and carries 120 points at the start until the first two minutes. After the first two minutes, it loses 10 points every 30 seconds. You score as much for that question as is its value at the time you answer it. Each time you use a lifeline, the value of the question at that time halves.

So in short, the sooner you answer the question, the more you score.

At the end of each day, we'll put out a leaderboard with the top scorers of each Prepathon so that you know where you stand with respect to other participants.
