as your problem is also similar to the one being discussed here, its solution according to me is also similar.
Parents wanting to marry off their 23-24 year daughter is a pretty normal thing, the best thing u can possibly do is get engaged, that should settle down the matters, n about the same age problem, u cant do anything about it, it all depends upon how much u r able to convince her parents.

One of my friends was in a similar situation before a year, she was 25 and 2 months elder than her BF, but still they both n we friends had a talk with family n now they r engaged n he is off to US for higher studies.

as far as i belive its basically about winning the trust of her parents that u wont dump her in the next 2 years inspite of being in different cities, if your relationship can reach this stage inspite of being in other city, u have to prove that it will last for 2 more years

well a y ear long affair , we also eanted to get married , but according to her her father is dead against love marriges , earlier thiswas the problem i was facing , but i though i would manage to connvince him ,,....everythign was moving on fine .........she completed her MSC & did intern in some hospital in bangalore ......then she got back to her home town......this was the moment when everything changed ......

Dunno know exactly .. what u came to know hr mom says we are of same age i.e 23 furthermore her mom says why shud we wait for 2 years ........whats the gurantee that he will marry u after 2 yrs.....( i dont know what to reply to this question ) ....

furthermore they wan their daughetr to get married within this year...

There's this college called Indian Institute of Modern Management (IIMM) in Pune.
Getting into this place doesnt seem too difficult.

Does anyone have any frst hand info about this place.

I am looking for some info regarding campus/hostel facilities ( particularly interested in this) / placements/curriculum.

I heard that they currently operate out of a makeshift place but they have a new campus coming up fast.

Any opinions/ideas about this place?

one more option u have is to ask her join now for some part time MBA or Distance Learning MBA ( ICFAI offers wide variety of courses.. CFA is best! )

she can be busy for 2 years or so and by the time u complete ur MBA even she will complete and then..... MAZE KARO YAR!!!!

it is simple ask the girl u love to appear for ATMA test it is conducted twice a year
all over india
and if u are in delhi then i know about some of the good institutes that come under this
the test is easy
if she got 75 percentile in CAT she will get much more in this one two
she can complete her MBA in her choice of subject and side by side can do a job
then 2 years will b over and then i hope all goes fine for u 2

2. they give admits pretty easily I heard and I am not too sure abt the application deadline though,I guess it is in sometime around June.
3. the college has good industry interface.

as u said, if she will join some job/corrospondence course, her parents will insist on her marriage...
still u can try for CETs, all the states conduct this for diff colleges....maharashtra CET is on 16th May (forms r not out yet), there r many colleges which gives admission based on CET.
Same with other states.

i think she can pursue any degree thru correspondance (like mca) or whatever, and simultaneously, go 4 a job...that'll keep her more than busy!( and this degree will add to her qualifications list too)

I was in same situation a couple of years ago .pressure was their from the girls side.
Solution - got engaged after 7 years in sep 2002 courtship. got married in december 2002

and right now knocking at the doors of the premier B schools.
If i get through IIM's she will be working in MUMBAI while ill be studying.

Bottomline - Go get her, and believe me nothing will come between you and MBA

I'm not qualified to give you expert advice, but if I were in your shoes, I'd sit down and have a good talk with my girl...about where SHE stands in this issue.
Doesn't she want to get a job (valuable experience) and then go in for an MBA ?
I'm a guy, but I definitely believe that nowadays even the girls should be capable of standing on their own two feet...and contributing to the household income.

She can put her foot down..and say "I'll wait for him !! That's final !!"

Hi Man,

I am sure you are in a dilema, But what i can suggest you is to make her join a B school the same city as your college is. And about the colleges where she can gain admission, one think i need to be clear here is weather she wants to do MBA in a good college or does she wants to do MBA to pass 2 years, if the annswer is the latter one you need not worry as there are more than 750 MBA colleges in India so you can walk over to any one of the Colleges with some money and get her admission there.
