I think KKR got it all wrong. With Narine, Shakib and Abdullah in the team another spinner was completely unnecessary. I don't see what purpose does McLaren serve in the team when Kallis will be playing every game and there is already a back-up in the form ofTen Dooeschate in the team. KKR should have gone for Abhishek Nayar and one among R.P or Pankaj Singh. Very bad picks Senanayake and McLaren, I would say.
Maxwell is average to say the least, the amount of money he went for is ridiculous to say the least. Ponting and Hughes are a waste of money too. I feel their least expensive buy Oram might have been their best buy.
Rajasthan should be happy getting Fidel Edwards which should solve their death over problems. But when he bowls in tandem with Tait we can expect a lot of wickets or a lot of runs. Still I would say Edwards and Faulkner are good buys for RR.
RCB just took all the Indian fast bowlers available (smart selections) considering they dont have any and as Gayle, De Villiers, Dilshan are certainties for every game they needed Indian bowling resources. R.P, Pankaj and Henriques were good selections. (They seemed like the only franchisee with a plan). Unadkat and Dan Christian were not needed according to me.
Thishara Perera should have been the costliest player in the auction according to me and the Sunrisers Hyderabad should be delighted to have him at 675000 (were Mumbai Indians insane releasing this guy

)
Other selections being Sammy, Nathan McCullum and Clint McKay, the Hyderabad team looks much stronger than the team they had last time around under Deccan chargers.
CSK made some unnecessary selections (should have gone for Indian fast bowlers instead) but Nannes and Dananjaya were their best picks.
KXIP get Pomersbach back to their squad and that was a good buy.
Pune probably picked Clarke as their captain but it remains to be seen whether he can contribute in the T-20 format as a player. They should be pleased having got Mendis and Nayar too but I couldn't fathom why did they need to spend so much on Kane Richardson

DD should be the most pleased team in terms of bargains today. They needed a good spinner and they got that in the form of Botha but the biggest bargains of the auctions were Jesse Ryder and Jeevan Mendis. How do they accommodate so much of foreign talent and select 4 among them is a big question now as Pietersen, Morne Morkel and Jayawardene are certainties. Ross Taylor, Warner, Botha and Ryder might have to fight for one slot.
Never give up. Keep fighting. Dream Big. Something better is in store.
