I had joined in 2010. And it was the old PG, the one before the likes, prep and different sections were brought in. I for one believe that the earlier PG was really good for discussion. It's like between orkut and facebook. Orkut earlier was good for discussion, where in communities had a better interface for say football discussions which I use to take part in. I know it's an absurd comparision, but somehow, the comments style doesn't suit much to discussing problems or other issues while preparing for cat, just like facebook groups aren't good for having football discussions.
I thoroughly appreciate the efforts taken to move on with the trend and change is needed, change is good...maybe I'll get accustomed to it after few days. But there is some factor that's still lacking, which made me addicted to PG earlier.
The features wherein we get notifications, when someone quotes us is amazing. Helps us save precious time looking for the earlier posts, but the general overall look and UI is a little difficult for discussions.
The prep section which was around before the recent change was brilliant and helped people like me who could have used internet on the cell phones while in office to study and get the answers then and there itself. But the recent version doesn't open up properly on the cell phone.
Also, one amazing feature was the thanks and groans. I just loved it when people use to thank for a useful comment and use to be really careful not to post anything useless, to avoid the groans. And the profile details (thanks and groans) use to be visible right besides out posts, making it more so important and just made answering something useful a little special.
I know may be am a little old minded, and also I understand that the first time when I came across Pagalguy, it was a changed one definitely from some earlier version. I will give this one a try, but would like to see a mix of the old and new one, with support for cell phones, because the difficult it becomes to load on the cell...the more precious time it wastes in the office, where lot of working professionals try to study as and when possible, making it a little tad frustrating.
Thanks.
