I have been working as en engineer in the United States since 2005 (after getting my masters in eng. from here )and my H1B expires in 2011. I also intend to apply to B school for 2011. It also so happens that my company is starting the GC process around this time (Nov 2009). I have heard that once you file for your GC petition, you cannot transfer to a F1 visa. In my case this means that, even though I will get admission from US colleges, my F1 visa will not be issued because I have already shown an intention to immigrate (by my company filing for my GC) and F1 is purely for foreign students who make the case that they will return to their respective countries on completing their degree.

Is anyone else in a similar soup of this nature and what did you do about it?

Also on a tangent, how will my college application be considered, would I be weighed against the applicant pool from my home country (in my case India) or would there be any credit given because I have already been exposed to the education and work experience in the US and hold an advanced degree?

Though i have been around on PG for around an year now i haven't posted much but preferred spending hours browsing through the forums each day. I am here t discuss a serious thing about which i seem to get no where every time i strain my brains to think upon it.
I am sorry its a long post but pls spare a few minutes for reading this, i really need help.
I am a 3rd year student of computer science engineering in serious fix about my career. Being a good student throughout my school life i opted for something which a so called "intelligent student floating all in 90's through her school life" is supposed to do. I opted for engineering after school and tragically not fro a very great engineering college as i was expected to do. And here i am stuck into a place i never wanted to be. I got great marks through my engineering too but my last semester marks dipped too low partly because i hate this place and partly because i realize that i simply hate my field. being a good student i made a dangerously wrong mistake by opting for computer science engineering. Computers is not something that has ever fascinated me, and i simply cant go on with a life spending 8-10hours of my day blankly staring at a machine which is nothing more than a hazardous mistake i committed, to say the least.
My actual passion lies in journalism. I have spent 10yrs of my life watching just news channels and simply analyzing the newspaper columns. I have simply grown up with the dream of being there some day and making my mark as an independent girl in the field of journalism. My flair for writing and my love for the written word seems to pull me away towards my passion.
However i have no idea how to pursue this dream of mine after college. Being a computer science student i have never dreamt of joining infosys, wipro or even something as giant as microsoft for that fact. My dreams are bigger than those. After college i want to firstly find a secured job for myself and then independently set off to fulfill my dreams. I can study, slog, die for how ever many years to fulfill this but i just have to.
Anywhere i have discussed about this, people have just laughed out and walked away at my "impractical" thinking, never got any guidance or ray of hope from anywhere.
Could someone please help me out through this with a few suggestions? Its not just a goal but its my life. Would be really thankful to people who can understand this problem of mine and help me decide on my future course to reach my dream destination.

I did n't attempt any GK or RC or DI questions.. Since there is no sectional cut off mark in MAT, I mainly concentrate on mathematical, verbal n logical reasoning, English usages & Data sufficiency problems.

With all these achievements I have one negative point thts my CGPA which is 7.05/10.

Wells Fargo that I m working for is a great bank, but I m into Tech Side into testing. This is not the profile I expcted, but i m utlising the huge knowledge bank inside the organisation and learning more on internal operations like how the bank works.
