Seniors i have one query

I already have a laptop TOSHIBA P205-S6267 with Intel core Duo 1.86GHz 2MB L2, 802.11a/g/n wireless-LAN.120GB HDD,2GB RAm,DVD RW,1 yr warranty.
Whether TAPMI is very strict about the core 2 duo configuration,3 yr warranty and bluetooth. Whether my LAPTOP will suffice as i have just bought it 8-9 months back.

TAPMI is strict abt such stuff 2??dont worry...i dont think such a thing wud b mentioned in the letter or nething...ur lappy is better than most of the ppl in my batch (including me oketoungeb so chill..get ur lappy...

what was the scene rgdn Waitlists last yr
I knw TAPMI dosn hav waitlists n all but my qsn is hw many ppl got thru in d second list last yr ???

Though the 27% OBC quota is not applicable to TAPMI, wil de delay sending of letters to ppl after 25th april as n wen vacancies arises???

hey is it difficult to get a laptop repaired in manipal....cause i also have a laptop with one year warranty....just incase anything goes wrong....what is the fastest way to get it fixed......

hi manan ,

just adding onto what you've said. about 5 mins (by bus , from old campus) there are computer showrooms , well offices to say the least.

its in a place called MGM. you will have direct buses from tiger circle.

from new campus , you can get buses from alevoor (go down further , thats where the new campus is) to tiger circle , from there u can get buses to udupi.

if i am not mistaken , there's a dell office and a zenith one. (you can get stuff repaired in here)

computers/laptops come to this zenith office from goa (thats the production house) . i got my DT from there.

i dont think repairing would be a problem

I dunno if this has already been posted out here...but itd be great if you can let us know if we'll definitely be moving to the new campus for the acad yr beginning 2008-09... or rather whats the scenario like.

Cos i heard some disturbing news from one of my friends who had visited the new campus who told me that the its still under construction and it wud be a good 6 months before it can be fully functional...rather ready for occupation. I apologize for posting something that might most likely be unture but i jus wanna get this thing clear. So if u guys do have some gyaan reg that pls enlighten us....

In the letter, they've asked us to fill up the laptop procurement form and send it to them along with the second instalment. Now, after we send it, do we still have the option to cancel our order in case we're not ok with the config/brand etc... or is it compulsory to buy it?
They should atleast mention the model number/brand & the price beforehand.

Well harinik a senior has already answered your query. You can bring your own laptops to TAPMI dont think that should be an issue. Dont worry go ahead and buy the XPS 1330. It is a fundoo laptop
